As part of YTL PowerSeraya’s core people philosophy, it believes in nurturing its employees so they can achieve their maximum growth potential. This corporate practice has also been extended outside of YTL PowerSeraya to support the education of our future generation so they too, can realise their aspirations.
YTL PowerSeraya Scholarship
YTL PowerSeraya was the first energy company to establish its scholarship programme with Nanyang Technological University in August 2008. It is a short-term and bond-free Scholarship programme that is open to all students from their second year of study undertaking various courses in the College of Engineering, College of Science and Nanyang Business School.
While applicants are selected based on their strong academic results and a good Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) track record, additional considerations are also given to students who have contributed meaningfully to the community or environment.
Under the programme, YTL PowerSeraya scholars are given the opportunity to undergo an internship with the company so they may gain the necessary hands-on experience and skills. They may also re-apply for the scholarship programme throughout the course of their study if they meet the renewal criteria.

Nithiah Nandan Book Prize Award
The Nithiah Nandan Book Prize was set up in March 2008 in honour of the late Mr. Nithiah Nandan, former Executive Secretary of the Union of Power and Gas Employees (UPAGE), for his dedicated support for lifelong education and dedication to serving others before self.
The Book Prize is open for application to the children of YTL PowerSeraya’s employees aged between 10 and 24 years. It aims to reward and encourage students who have excelled in their selected field of interest or who have contributed significantly to the environment, community or society.
The UPAGE Annual Bursary Award Scheme
YTL PowerSeraya works closely with the Union of Power And Gas Employees (UPAGE) and supports them in their various initiatives to help its union members. This is done chiefly through contributions made to the UPAGE Endowment Fund. The fund supports initiatives such as the Annual Bursary Award Scheme which is open to the children of all their members. These bursaries are given out yearly to students from Primary Four right up to those who are taking their GCE ‘A’ Levels.
